The electronic seal serves as the digital stamp for organisations and institutions in the electronic media. E-Seal has the same legal validity as any physical seal, including an official seal.
Pursuant to the Law No. 5070, an e-Seal is a record of evidence that guarantees that an electronic document or data is created by the holder of the electronic seal, and the document or data is authentic and is not altered.
An electronic seal and an electronic signature are different products. An electronic signature is issued to real persons while an electronic seal is issued to legal entities. An e-Seal certificate does not serve as a substitute for an e-Signature.
The electronic seal may be used in all actions where the financial seal is currently in use. Further, it will also be available for use in applications such as the Electronic Correspondence Package (EYP 2.0).
An Electronic Seal is obtained from a government-authorised Electronic Certificate Service Provider (ECSP).
